David is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has a BSc Honours Degree in Estate Management from Reading University. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of Arbrix, Index and a Member of the Energy Institute.
David is on the panel of Arbitrators and Independent Experts appointed by the President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for rent review and other disputes in relation to petrol filling stations, car dealerships, car parks and associated motor trade properties.
He is a RICS Registered Valuer.
He has 40 years experience in all types of commercial, retail and industrial properties. His specialist experience with the oil industry commenced in 1984 with Mobil Oil Company Limited, dealing with all aspects of filling stations, car dealership and motor trade properties and oil distribution properties throughout the UK.
David was previously a Partner in Adlers Chartered Surveyors from 1988 with responsibility for the Roadside Department, dealing with these properties exclusively on a day to day basis. He undertook all matters of professional work and agency for many of the major oil companies, plc. groups and other private Clients.
He founded Hunter Property Consultants at the end of 2009 to continue this specialist work on behalf of his clients.
David has considerable experience dealing with landlord and tenant matters, including references to third party and Court, and has dealt with many disposals under compulsory purchase, including references to the Upper Tribunal. He provides expert witness reports in cases of disputes between parties and has given evidence before the High Court, County Courts and planning hearings.
He sat on the RICS working party drawing up the initial Guidance Notes for the valuation of petrol filling stations for incorporation into the Red Book. David has given lectures and published articles on the valuation of petrol stations, dealerships and car parks.
